On May 20 this year, we signed a contract with the Amapá Energy Company for the construction of Santo Antônio do Jari (name of the waterfall located in the Jari River, which divides the state of Pará and Amapá, about 20 km upstream the town of Monte Dourado), with installed power of 370 MW.

The hydroelectric plant will use the natural fall of the Jari River, where waterfalls are formed with about 10 meters high. The project will contemplate the preservation of the main waterfalls.

The Cesbe will be the consortium leader, will have the participation of companies Alstom (supplier of turbines and generators), and Areva Koblitz (supplier of electromechanical equipment).

The value of this contract is 731 million reais, with the participation of Cesbe corresponds to 404 million.

This is a work with great difficulty in logistics, as all equipment and much of the material has its origin in the south and southeast. Access to the work shall be done from Belém / PA with 03 days of travel by ferry to the port of Mungumbá, and finally with road transport over 30 km.

In addition to the logistical difficulty, this is an area where it rains a lot: we have only four months a year with less rainfall intensity, when the river level is lower.

The work will have a volume of rock excavation exceeding 600,000 cubic meters and a volume of concrete of more than 320,000 cubic meters, which will require a huge mobilization of equipment.

The work shall be built in 34 months, with the mobilization order scheduled for July 1, and the start of activities for August 1.
