 Sanitary and Environmental Protection Works
In the last decades CESBE has accomplished numerous projects in sanitary and environmental projects for private and governmental clients, as follows: - Complete water systems: water intake, treatment, storage and distribution;
- Complete sewage systems: sewage collection, treatment and disposal;
- Environmental protection works in industrial plants;
- Industrial wastewaters: treatment and disposal.
| "IRAÍ" DAMIt is an important asset of the water storage system that supplies the Curitiba Metropolitan Area. It is an homogeneous rolled earth dam, 1,125 meter long, filled with 800,000 m³ of selected clay. The works were performed by a consortium led by CESBE.

Construction of a gravity concrete dam - 6,000 m³ - designed to provide slope protection and debris control on a creek at the Arthur Bernardes Refinery.

| “BELÉM” SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
Construction of a 2,200 l/s carrousel circuit sewage treatment plant for a population of 500,000 inhabitants. The biological treatment of the activated sludge is attained with the aid of superficial vertical shaft aerators.
- Earthmoving: 800,000 m³
- Buildings: 30,000 m2
- Reinforced concrete: 18,000 m³.

| REVAP RESERVOIRSThe Revap reservoirs consist of 36,000 m³ pre-stressed concrete tanks designed to avoid potential environmental contamination by oil sub-products. The contract comprised a storm water segregation system; a contaminated water drainage system; instrumentation and electromechanical assembly of pumps; sluice gates and valves for the pipelines at the Henrique Laje Refinery.

| “ITU” SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTCivil works for a 550 l/s sewage treatment plant. Sewage treatment is done by the deep shaft system consisting of a 68 m deep well with a 7.8 m diameter and gas relief system. Plant capacity: 250,000 residents.

This tertiary sewage treatment plant, with 544 l/s capacity, is equipped to supply 190,000 urban residents. The contract includes design; civil, electromechanical and automation works; and, also, furnishing, installation and pre-operation of all equipment.
