Built by Cesbe between 1995 and 1996, the Curitiba Memorial is a modern space, designed to house multiple cultural activities, including exhibitions and theater and music presentations, and to preserve and exhibit the city´s history. It is a tribute to the 300th anniversary of the Paraná capital, therefore it is also known as Memorial of the 300th anniversary.
It was designed with modern lines, metal beams, roof and sides in clearglass, in contrast with the century-old constructions of the historical area. Inaugurated in 1996, the building’s architectural design was inspired in the pine tree of Paraná. It houses important local, national and international art works and is located in a very important tourist area of Curitiba, the Largo da Ordem
