As a structuring action to increase the maturity of our processes, in January we launched the “Cesbe EngenhariaLean Construction Pilot Project”. Our team of business excellence, together with Lean Institute Brasil, lead this initiative in a project for substations and transmission lines in São Luis (MA).
The purpose of this initiative is to train our associates and partners in management tools that enhance our ability to plan, organize and perform activities, so that teams are increasingly prepared to solve the challenges encountered throughout the construction work.
Antônio Diniz, Cesbe’s contract manager, highlights the satisfaction of taking on the challenge: “Our team has the honor and responsibility to welcome the Lean Institute Brasil and start the process of implementing Lean tools at Cesbe. Another success story for our company begins to be written here in Maranhão”.
The initiative covers not only the associates present at the construction site, but also the headquarter teams, responsible for the support actions for the teams. “In the initial training of the Lean Institute Brasil, exercises were applied to engage the teams, with practical and dynamic examples. Everything targeted at the real scenario of our construction work, which means we build solutions in a natural and consistent way to maximize results and accelerate productivity within the construction site”, comments Cristine Ferraz, process analyst at Cesbe.
The system presented by the Lean Institute Brazil is already being put into practice, in order to optimize the actions, seeking to map the services, understand in detail and perform specific improvements in these processes. This is the beginning of a journey to improve the methodology applied to our business and to engage the entire company in lean culture”, concludes Vinicius Serrano, general director of Cesbe.
